Huawei Technologies has announced that it has helped one of its key customers, Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited (PBTL) achieve significant market growth in the last three months. The quantity of PBTL’s subscribers in Bangladesh’s CDMA market has grown by more than 50% from April to June this year, making it a considerable milestone for both PBTL and Huawei. PBTL is Bangladesh’s largest CDMA operator and is a subsidiary of SingTel. At the end of 2005, Huawei was selected by PBTL to deploy a CDMA2000 network valued at over hundred million dollars. In this turnkey project, Huawei provided CDMA2000 end-to-end solutions including infrastructure products, WIN, handsets, transmission products, civil engineering, network operation management and maintenance. Huawei also enabled PBTL to introduce a range of new services such as CRBT, MMS, VMS, SMS and WAP for its subscribers. Chye Hoon Pin, CEO of PBTL said, “With the best infrastructure and services, PBTL will become the best mobile operator in this market. This cannot be achieved without a reliable supplier for our network. Huawei was chosen as our infrastructure supplier and outsourced managed service provide for these exact reasons.
