NetApp's storage solutions hits the right numbers for Hong Kong accounting body

Network Appliance recently announced it has successfully implemented a unified storage solution within Hong Kong's largest accounting body, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, improving the reliability and performance of its IT system.

The implementation of a unified storage solution allows the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs to leverage a more advanced storage architecture that has improved its system and application performance, particularly for its Membership Management System.

"With over 26,000 members and a Membership Management System comprising a membership database, student database, firm database and annual billing system, we knew we needed to upgrade our storage solutions,"said Edwin Cheung, director, operation and finance, the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs."As part of the Institute's long term planning, we were looking to optimizeour use of technology, while reducing costs and improving efficiency."

The NetApp deployment is based on a NetApp FAS 3020C with its proven lower TCO and higher storage utilization running NetApp Data ONTAP 7G. NetApp RAID –DP technology improves data protection.

Following the successful implementation the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs is now looking at NetApp's disaster recovery solutions and other NAS products to assist with the further consolidation of its servers.
